WHPacific led survey of this pipeline project through 68 miles of mountainous terrain and badlands, six miles of which traveled through a National Guard training base. Our project team mobilized seven crews in three days’ time, including four trucks and equipment, from Texas to the site in Wyoming.
The teams utilized Trimble R8 GNSS Systems, Nikon Total Stations, RD8000 Pipe/Cable/RF Marker locators, traveling in four Ford F150s as well as side-by-side utility vehicles.
The six-mile portion of the pipeline that travels through a National Guard base required extensive preparations and long days to work within the Guard’s available timeline. The area had to be cleared of ordinance prior to being cleared for our surveyors, who then had to work 14-to-16-hour days for three weeks to complete this portion of the project.
