Project Description

The Eben Hopson Middle School Replacement was programmed and designed to provide for the educational requirements of 325 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students in the Arctic coast community of Barrow. WHPacific’s responsibilities (as ASCG) included providing educational specifications/programming, design and construction documents, bidding, administration of the construction contract, and the furniture, fixtures, and equipment bidding documents for the original 69,975 square-foot state-of-the-art education facility. WHPacific (as ASCG) provided architectural and engineering services for the conversion of part of an existing storage room into accessible restrooms. The new restrooms serve the multi-purpose room, allowing this area of the school to be used by the community in the evenings, while restricting access to the remainder of the building.
