This project involved the assessment and rehabilitation of traditional housing and HUD-funded new housing projects. WHPacific provided facility assessment, and architectural, engineering, and construction administration services in support of the SFPHA modernization program for existing homes. Structures were of varying ages and construction types. The primary mission was to secure the structures to make them safe and livable. Roofing, building structure, plumbing, electrical wiring, and heating were modernized, beginning with a detailed assessment of existing conditions. Our in-house architects and mechanical and electrical engineers visited each residence to document existing conditions with photographs, sketches, and scaled drawings. We worked closely with SFPHA to develop a scope of work and construction budget for each house, then we developed construction document packages addressing between 5 and 25 houses at a time. We also provided construction inspection services and developed punch lists for final completion and inspection. The project included modernization construction of 22 homes, assessment and design of 5 prototype homes, and construction of 13 new homes.
