WHPacific is excited to announce the grand opening of FedEx’s Tracy California Hub facility. WHPacific worked for four years on this important project and is thrilled that the facility has now opened. Our work on this project included land-use planning assistance, civil engineering, landscape architecture, survey, and construction services.

The 120-acre facility includes buildings totaling more than 650,000 square feet. The buildings include a distribution hub facility, wash building, maintenance garage, fuel islands, guard houses, and an entry gateway building. Though the original site was relatively level overall, the final design turned out to be far from flat featuring undulating, eight-foot-high berms and plush landscaping features to help screen the building from view. The creation of these features was challenging for WHPacific’s team as they required complex grading and landscape design.

FedEx stated that with the completion of the facility it can now process 22,500 packages per hour. They currently have 470 employees for the new hub with plans to add 350 new part-time employees for the upcoming holiday season. WHPacific is thrilled with the success of this project for FedEx and looks forward to seeing how the surrounding community will thrive with the completion of the facility.
